Drag and Drop

Hello

Account Right desktop App

We can seem to drag and drop document files  from emails attachments  to both Bills and Invoices when using the desktop App.

Annoyingly to work around this we have to save the file to a folder and then drop it in.

Is there anyway this could be fixed.

    Hi EibachAU,

Yep, that's actually the normal way to go about it. Saving the file to your computer first and then dragging it across. If you've been able to do it straight from your emails before though, it might be worth giving the steps in this post a go: Drag & Drop - new Outlook | MYOB Community.

If it's still being stubborn after that, best bet is to jump onto our live chat support through our virtual assistant, MOCA, or submit a case via My Account so the team can dig in further.

    Regards,

    Sai

    Hi EibachAU

Yeah, having the drag feature gone definitely adds a few extra steps.

At the moment, there’s no way to vote on the link you were given – the vote button only shows up on posts in the Ideas Exchange, and there isn’t a specific idea logged just for this drag‑and‑drop issue yet.

    Right now, the workarounds are:

    • Save the attachment to your computer first, then upload or drag it in from there, or
    • Drag the whole email across instead.

I know that still means extra clicks compared to how it used to work. From what we’re seeing, it’s likely a recent Outlook update that’s broken how drag‑and‑drop works with AccountRight, rather than anything on the user side.

Here is a work around that I do much quicker than that Genreve

You won't have to save to computer first

    -Click on Attachments

    -Click on Add Documents

-Bill Attachments opens (where you would normally find the file)

-Go to your email and drag and drop the file into here, then click "Open" - the file you just dropped will already be highlighted so you don't even need to select it

-The attachment is uploaded without you having to save it first

-Every now and then just delete the files that are saved in the folder you are dropping onto.  I just created one called AR Uploads so it is easy to delete all in the folder at once.
