Hi Gavin,
To reply to you comments below.
The item only has one location.
Profile tab is showing incorrect on hand balance. It is only the report that is correct.
We only order what we need to invoice so don't hold a balance of this item (ie a purchse entry is followed by a sale) so I can't "transfer" any product.
For this item the opening count is nil followed by a purchase of 60 units. So you would think that the items on hand would show as 60. Unfortunately the on hand figure after the purchase is showing as 35 and not 60, hence being unable to enter my invoice.
Hi ArgoInt
My apologies, when I wrote:
"Check the Item Profile tab, this usually shows the correct on hand count, as does the Inventory Value Reconciliation Report." - I meant that these are the amounts being used by MYOB, not that they are correct or show what they should show. So when reports differ to these amounts, the reports are 'wrong' and should be ignored. When the profile tab and IVR show amounts that don't agree with physical on hand amounts and value - they need to be adjusted by the user.
It is likely that before your Purchase, the on hand count for this item showed as - 25. This is the bit that was likely caused by a bug in MYOB. When a previous transaction was edited/reversed/deleted etc, MYOB failed to update the amounts correctly, resulting in the negative on hand amount.
Best way to correct this is to process an Inventory Adjustment Journal to adjust the on hand count and the value to the amounts they should be. If not sure how, there are article in the Support section on this.
Regards
Gavin
