Journal entry dates
Why is the default general entry date As at today’s date as virtually no journals I dated on the day they prepared. The date should be either the last date used as they are normally done at month or...
99% of all journal entries are either as at month end or year end. In 40 years as a chartered accountant, I have never had the need to enter today's date on a journal entry. Wy does MYOB not recognise this to help avoid the transactions appearing in the wrong period ?
I have employed several bookkeepers over this period and they often forget to alter the date of the journal entry.

Hi tonymac,
I see how easily a simple piece of information like the date can be overlooked and the benefits of automatically saving the date of your last entry. However, some users enter their transactions in real time, which benefits from the current setup of the application. I recommend posting this suggestion on the Ideas Exchange board for other users to vote on for future updates.
Cheers,
