Hi There,
I have the exact same issue, Did you ever get an answer or help? Seems like it has happened on a few invoices for me.

Hi jyebuddy,
Welcome to the Community Forum! If an unpaid invoice is showing as paid already, it means that a payment transaction was applied to that invoice. To correct this, you would need to reopen the invoice and then delete the customer payment, which would make the invoice open again.
