Myob Acc Right Wages

Each fortnight we process wage from Deputy.  Each fortnight we import from Deputy, check the timesheet import and follow the process thru.  For each employee we open, we always need to delete the BASE WAGE as deputy imports using the wages category which has also been imported to MYOB - so the BASE WAGE needs deleting as the actual wages category picks up the times from deputy correctly .... until today.

Today when processing  - it's the BASE WAGE that is showing the imported amount and if I delete that as I would normally do - it's not picked up on the actual corresponding wages category.

Any other category corresponding is picked up - but not the actual main wages category.

This is the last fortnight for the year (of course it is)

REALLY REALLY REALLY need help on this - I could manually enter it - but it needs fixing ASAP and the import from Deputy hasn't changed.

There is a 2 hour wait on the phone....

    Hi Feebie,

Sorry for the late reply. We’re getting a pretty wild wave of requests at the moment, so responses are taking a little longer than usual. For this one, a good place to start is checking the employee’s Standard Pay setup, along with the payroll categories linked to their wages. If anything changed in the name or settings of that main wage category, it can cause the import to behave differently and send the amount to Base Wage instead of the usual pay item. Since the other categories are still coming through properly, this does make it look like the main wage category may have had a tiny setup wobble somewhere. Definitely worth checking that nothing has been renamed, adjusted, or unticked behind the scenes. If things are still acting up after that, you can reach out to our support team on Live Chat via our virtual assistant, MOCA, or by submitting a support case via My Account so they can take a closer look for you.

    Cheers,

    Doreen

Thanks Doreen - can you please tell me what the setting should be so that it operates in the way it would normally - Ie as above we just delete the BASE and the import goes to the correct code   I wouldn't have thought anybody would have changed anything as I generally am the only one

... also - I'm just checking the payroll category of BASE Hourly - when I click on the blue arrow to open it up to see how it's set up,  everything is actually greyed out - except for the name Base Hourly and the ATO reporting category of Gross Payments - the bottom half is greyed out

....and another thing I did notice when we went to do the pays last week for the fortnight - Initially when we select (desktop AR) to process payroll, the pay period is ALWAYS opening on fortnight - last week it opened on Bonus/Commission - which was weird and I juts changed it to what it should be - but I remember thinking that that was weird.... and then the fun began!

    Hi Feebie,

Normally, a default wages category like Base Hourly or Base Salary will be greyed out, especially if it’s already been used in transactions, so that part would usually be expected.

What may have happened here is that the import has overwritten some of the existing details. That can sometimes happen during importing, especially if the mapping fields don’t line up exactly, and even more so when the import is coming from a third-party app. It’d be worth double-checking all of the mapping fields being used in the import to make sure everything is pointing to the correct payroll categories. If this has started happening regularly, it’ll need a closer look, so it’d be best to reach out to our team directly so they can investigate your specific file in more detail.

    Cheers,
