Payday Super - no TFN

I'm having trouble with a couple of new employees who haven't got a TFN yet. I enter the usual 111 111 111 as their TFN and this is accepted in Single Touch but when I try to process their super using Pay Super I get the error message 'you need to enter a valid TFN for this employee'. and it need to deselect them to continue paying everyone else. Any suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated.

    Hi Oz83,

That sort of TFN issue can be a real holdup. What’s happening is that Pay Super uses SuperStream validation, so alternative ATO TFN codes like 111, 333, or 444 usually won’t be accepted there, even if they still work for STP reporting. You could try changing it to 000 000 000 first and see if that helps. If the error still comes up, the best way forward would be to check with the ATO about what should be used for their super instead. In the meantime, you can still pay their super directly to the fund and record it manually in AccountRight, so you stay compliant.
