Payroll Categories

How can you remove unused Payroll Categories from current Employee Cards? 

I have tried to remove old categories which are not used in the current payroll FY and the following error message pops up:  'Error, one or more payroll categories cannot be deselected.' 

We are a 24/7 business with many changing catergories which must be updated for imported payroll co-ordination, so some employees now have over 30 categories to date and currently only use a maximum of 12.  These categories are updated and changed by Head office each year so the number will keep growing unless the old, unused ones can be removed.

In previous versions of MYOB the unused categories could be deselected. 

Can somebody help with this one please?

    Currently within AccountRight, if a payroll category has been used to pay an employee, it cannot be removed from that employee. As such if payroll categories were being added to an employee and the employee paid on these, they would remain on the employee and wouldn’t be able to be deselected

    HELP!!!

    Historically we could not deselct payroll categories from employees cards that were no longer relevant.  Given we start fresh tomorrow (so to speak) can I deselect payroll categories for individual employees that are no longer relevant? TIA

    If an employee has been previously paid on a payroll category that category cannot be removed from their card.

    That is a shame Neil.  I understand within a payroll year but when we move to a new payroll year I would of assumed we have the ability to deselect any that are no longer relevant.

     

    Is this something that the technical team would look into as I am sure I would not be alone with now having multiple payroll categories that are no longer relevant to the new payroll year?

    I’m not currently aware of any plans to change how the payroll functionality works. That said this may be something that the team considers for potential future development. However I do not have any sort of possible timeframe on this
