RDO accrual adjustment when taking one day's personal or annual leave

When an employee who works RDO's takes one day's personal leave I have been advised to create a "RDO Leave Reduction" payroll category and deduct 0.4 hours from this category when paying the employee 8 hours for the day off.

My question is how do you link the RDO Leave Reduction category to the RDO accruals so that the 0.4 hours goes back on to the RDO accruals?
