STP 2 reporting for religious organisations

Under STP 2 i need to report our pastor's exempt fringe benefits as income which are then offset by salary sacrifice other for the same amount.  I only realised I needed to do this once last week.

My last payrun was Friday, so I set it up to report these items creating a new payroll category using the ATO reporting category "gross payments" .  After I did the payrun today, I looked at payroll reporting and noticed that the taxed component of his salary and the salary sacrifice component was there but the new category wasn't being picked up by STP2.  Can someone tell me why the ATO reporting categorty isn't being picked up?  Do I need to make it an allowance?  I've spent all day on this and I have no solution.

    Hi AntoinetteH

Thank you so much for your post and Welcome to the Community Forum!

The ATO reporting category, assigned to each payroll category, determines where in the EOFY STP report the figures go. If any of these figures look like they are in the wrong place on the report or are missing, it’s likely that they have an incorrect ATO reporting category assigned to them.

To check the ATO reporting category on a wage category:

Click on Payroll Categories in the Payroll command centre.

Click the arrow beside the wage category.

Check and update the ATO reporting category field if its incorrect

Please do let me know how you go on this.
