Opening balances - new business

Hi all, 24 hours ago I found that entering opening balances into newly created (education trial) businesses for study purposes was working fine.

However since late last night, the error appears when trying to enter any sales or expenses opening balances:

Opening balances from a previous financial year may not be changed for P&L categories.

This error is appearing no matter what the financial year setting is.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Thanks!

  • Hi CiaraD,

Looks like the error message "Opening balances from a previous financial year may not be changed for P&L categories" might be popping up because the opening balance date is set incorrectly. Could you double-check the month and year listed under the Opening balance date? If the date is later than the one you're trying to enter, that’s probably what's causing the hiccup. Also, make sure you're following the right steps for entering opening balances. For more details, you can check out this link.

If the error keeps bugging you, feel free to reach out to our awesome support crew for more help. You can give us a call or connect with our live chat agent through our virtual assistant MOCA on our website.

    Cheers,

    Princess

Hi Princess, Have checked and double checked and it is no to do with the month and year listed in this case. Definitely following the right steps and have done it multiple times before.

I might have to follow up with a call in this case. What's the best number for this issue please? thanks.
