I would like to suggest the following improvements for custom forms.
- Allow us to choose a custom form when selecting "Send To" > "Disk" from a Quote/Invoice or Bill etc.
- Improve the ability to include information that ONLY appears on the first/last/middle pages. This feature seems to be present - but I don't find it useful.
Our situation is as follows: We have a header and footer, we only need the header to be shown on the first page, and we only need the footer to be shown on the last page. Any page that isn't the first or last page should have a different (smaller) header and footer, leaving more room for a bigger invoice table. Naturally if there is only one page - it needs both the large header and footer on it. It is also important to note that on each of these types of pages (first/last/middle) - the invoice table will be in a different position and will be a different size. - Allow Hyperlinks without having to display the full web address - eg. "click here to view our website", or making our logo into a hyperlink that takes the customer to our website.
- Allow the use of dynamic information TOGETHER with standard text. eg: put a short message at the bottom of a quote saying something like: "Please contact your sales representative [Salesperson] to proceed with this quote. Thank you for your business". This would be particularly useful for directing the customer to a payment portal with a custom URL eg: https://my-website.com/make-payment?Invoice=[InvoiceNo]&Total=[Total]
- Fix "Row Shading" when used with Borders. Currently enabling row shading on a table that uses visible borders looks really strange, because on the shaded rows the borders are obscured up by the shading. It would also be nice to be able to cusomise the row shading colour.
- In Quotes/Invoices Bills etc we are able to insert a "Header" as a line item - it would be nice to be able to give this a custom font / size and make it bold etc. at the moment they appear in the exact same font/size etc. as the rest of the line items in the table.
- I'm not quite sure how to explain this one - but anyone who has tried to change the column widths of a table will understand what I'm saying: Resizing the width of the columns in a table ALWAYS causes me much grief. Resizing one of the columns always ruins the rest, and often causes the table to look very lopsided.
- Allow the "padding" of a table to be customisable. i.e. the tables always allow a small buffer area between the content and the table borders. Often I have found that this buffer is too large, and i would like to reduce this padding so that more can be fit into one line.
Thank you in advance for your consideration on the above suggestions. I am happy to elaborate on anything that is unclear.

great suggestions - while the customise forms tool has been improved I still find it very clunky and fiddly to use.
also:
- add a field for discounted unit price
- insert blank table (i.e not invoice or gst table) so to avoid haveing to draw in lines for extra info not in invoice table
- allow two page invoice to allow for terms and conditions to be emailed with each invoice
- I find the padding comment above particularly relevent for column headings

Would also like to have added
- Contact details entered into card should transfer to form (eg it will show bring the mailing address from address 2 or 3 but still shows the phone no from address 1

I would add the fact that the "undo" button really undo the last thing that was done.
If you're working on a table to change color/borders... the "undo" button will not undo your last change on the table, but the last modification outside the table... very annoying as I need to cancel modifications and reopen the custom form...

Why do we have no choice to select a different invoice form when choosing to save rather than email or print an invoice. Often we need to use a Pro-forma invoice or Commercial Invoice rather than a standard tax invoice. At present the only way to create these is to email them to ourselves which is time consuming cumbersome!

Yes! this bothers me too!!
- Suja_PFormer StaffStatus changed:NewtoOpenThank you for the idea. We can certainly see the benefit in being able to select a preferred form when using the 'Send to Disk' option. We request others to vote and comment on this Idea, if they would like this included in the program. In the meantime you could use the Print option to print to a PDF writer, to be able to create a PDF copy of your Invoice using your preferred form.

Since upgrading to AccountRight Plus this issue of not being able to select the form when saving to disk has been a real sticking point that frustrate me endlessly and causes great inconvenience and wasted time. Printing to PDF produces very poor quality results, which is not acceptable when I am a graphic designer promising high quality output to my clients. Additionally, printing to PDF appears to be a little buggy, with issues when printing vertical lines which instead come out looking like dashed lines. I use Adobe Professional so this is not an issue that should occur with well developed software.
I have recently resigned myself to modifying the layout of my invoices so that I use only the default form instead of being able to choose from two more customised invoices. It would be great to see the Save to Disk feature developed more completely.

Agree, I would also love to be able select from my personlaised forms either a quote or invoice when saving to a disc. I currently have to change via the customer card back to my quote form, go back to thw quote, save to disc, then go back to the card & change back to invoice form.

Also need the save to disc feature changed. Otherwise myob is completely useless for my businesses.

its so frustrating have to go out and change the default form all the time i save each invoice to pdf nearly 3 times before i get it right. this would be so much easier and less time consuming to be able to just select the form on the fly =\

I agree - it would be a great time saver to be able to select which invoice you want when saving to disk.
Please implement this as quickly as possible.

Yes please implement this upgrade. I am loving the new AccountRight compared to a dinosaur version of MYOB but I would have thought the ability to be able to select a customised form as a primary preference would have been a given for printing, print preview and exporting to PDF.
***After submitting this I found through the forum that you can set your form preference via the Sales Command Centre and selecting Print or Email Invoices and click on the Advanced Filters tab, follow your nose and you can work the rest out :)

Hi mechandmarine
Thanks for the feedback in regards to the new AccountRight Live range and its great to see you have showed your support for the idea by voting.
As you have worked out you can set the default form for saving to disk via the relevant advance filters window and selecting the required form in the selected form for sale box at the bottom of the window.
