Hi CatSim70
Your comment has sparked some questions for me, in the best way! Both to see if there's some cool ideas for our product team, but also to see if we can work out an easier way of working for you and your daughter 😄
Sounds like you and your daughter are working in tandem, but sometimes that leads to some fiddly work. I want to make sure I got the full picture, so I want to run an example by you:
- You create an expense and fully complete it (marking as paid, categorising, matching transaction from a connected account, all that jazz)
- Then, your daughter goes into Capture expense -> Paid expense and snaps a photo of the receipt.
- She doesn't save this expense; instead, she exits and clicks Save photo for later for you to pick it up from the Unrecorded expenses queue in the Action hub.
- But from there, the only options are to create a new expense, so you grab a screenshot and upload that to the existing expense record.
Did I get that right?
And your ideal scenario is a spot where you or your daughter can simply snap a photo or upload a receipt, without having to start the expense creation process; then, when ready, you can simply add it to an existing expense in one click?
As for potentially better ways for working with our current set-up, I have some ideas 😄
- First option is for your daughter to upload the receipt directly to the expense record after you have saved it: Tap Money Out -> Find the correct expense record and open it -> tap Add receipt. From there she can upload it from her saved photos of documents, or snap a photo with her camera.
- The other option is to hang back on creating the expense until your daughter has uploaded the receipt. Then you can create the expense using the Auto-fill function, and if there's a corresponding transaction to match to it you can jump into the action hub and take care of that from there.
Keen to hear your thoughts on this! And if there are other scenarios or nuances I've missed then let me know!
