Sending Update Event to ATO Creates Zero Payslip To Be Emailed to Employee

When I click on "Send update event" to the ATO through the Payroll Reporting Centre, it creates a zero payslip for every employee, including employees who have ended their employment in the current Payroll Year.

The problem is that MYOB creates the Zero Payslip with a 'To be emailed' or a 'To be printed' flag.

I then have to click into every pay slip and change it to Already Emailed or Printed.

This is labour intensive and unnecessary.  Really a WHS issue.

If MYOB need to create a zero payslip to send an update even, program it to mark the payslip as Already Printed and Emailed.

Many thanks

Elizabeth

Well, I'm pretty sure I already suggested this or voted on it in the old forum. So that's a 10,000x vote from me. The easiest way I can think of (other than the obvious method of simply creating them as 'already sent') is to have a second multi-choice question after clicking on the 'send update event' button, to say something like "do you want the resulting $0.00 payslips to be flagged as... then the four options: to be printed/to be emailed/to be printed and emailed/already printed and sent", with the 'already printed and sent' as the DEFAULT. I can't imagine anyone needing to ever print or email them.

We are changing this idea's status to On Hold due to low community engagement (comments and votes) over the last six months. The idea remains in our developer backlog, but it will be prioritised for review if it receives more votes.

Seriously, this shouldn't even need to be voted on. It should simply be fixed. I cannot think of any reason why it was done this way. I'd be interested to hear the reasoning/logic for the decision.
