Payroll - creating new employee

Would MYOB please immediately pop back in the "manually enter details" which has literally disappeared over the last few hours from the create new employee card. We do not wish to use your employee onboarding. Whoever thought it was a good idea to remove in the first place?

Hi Everyone,

I totally get how annoying it is when you're all set to add a new employee and the "manually enter details" button decides to do a little disappearing act. Sorry about the hassle! We've rolled out an update recently, and because of that, some users won't see that option straight away. The good news? You can absolutely bring it back by opting out of employee onboarding.

If you're on the desktop version, head over to: Set up > General Payroll Information. You'll find the setting there.

If you're using the browser version, head to: Payroll Settings > General Payroll Information. Same settings lives there too.

Once you set it to "Optional, ask me every time," the manual entry option should reappear without any fuss. Here's the help article as well, in case you want the full rundown. Employee self-onboarding.

I agree Bronwyn. It has disappeared and Im not a fan of having "staff" who we employ on a casual/trial basis to have their data entry override mine!
Why are we fixing things that are not broken?! 🙄

Same here. The button disappeared for us as well, which is why I came to the forum to see if anyone else has the same issue. Please bring the “manually enter details” option back. This sudden change has disrupted our onboarding workflow. Not all companies prefer employees to enter their own details, so it is important for us to keep the ability to enter the information manually.

Also, to Bronwyn, at the moment there is a workaround. You can temporarily enter your own email address instead of the employee’s email so it will not send the invitation link. Later you can change it back to the employee’s email. This is the only method I can think of for now.

Hi Doreen,

That is exactly the tiny underlined link that disappeared yesterday after 9am but before 1pm! From several MYOB files, both Account Right and Account Premier, not just one. It used to sit next to the Save and Continue button but MYOB want to force you to use Flare so used to make it difficult, now that link is not available. So, the error and request still stand.

This isn't a case of MYOB "fixing things that are not broken". This is a case of MYOB forcibly making us use Flare, which also earns advertising dollars for either/both MYOB or Flare. Without any advice, or consultation, with their clients. So typical of MYOB.

Hey BronwynHamster,

It’s a bit confusing when a familiar button seems to vanish while you’re steering clear of onboarding. I’ve replicated the flow and can see the “Enter details manually” option is still available when creating a new employee card, and I’ve added a screenshot below for reference.

If you still can't find the "Enter details manually" button, make sure to reach out to our team on Live Chat via our virtual assistant, MOCA, or by submitting a support case via My Account. They can check why the said button isn't showing up on your end.

We have a high turnover of casual staff here, especially coming up to Christmas, and I can assure you this is going to be an issue if I have to wait till the employee enters their data so that I can over-ride what they've entered. Geez!

Great idea Suzy888 to enter our own email address until they fix this glitch!
