Accrual Warning flags in payroll, even though staff has enough entitlements

Hi All,

 

This one is weird. we have staff set up with Annual leave, Leave Loading and therefore Annual leave accrual in the entitlements. The accrual is ticked to carry over from the previous years. when processing some annual leave this week, i had the warning that there was not enough leave and that the balance would be in the negative.

 

upon checking the staff entitlements, they had 113.76 hrs in the carry-over column, 11.08, in the year-to-date, and 124.846 hrs in the Totals column.

Why would a warning appear if overall, they have enough hours in entitlements?

Hi @DEX23,

 

Thank you for sending the warning message screenshot.

 

The warning message is being displayed incorrectly and the underlying figures will be correct. If a user proceeds with the pay the employee’s figures will be updated correctly and they will have the correct balance displayed on the pay slip. Reports and the employee's card file will also show the correct figures after the pay has been processed. 

 

As long as the employee has enough leave to cover the amount of leave being taken, the warning message can be safely ignored. It is only the warning message that is displaying incorrectly.

Hi @DEX23 @Princess_R @Doreen_P 

 

I think it actually more sounds like you have also linked the leave loading to reduce the annual leave accrual, meaning you will reduce their hours accrued by 32 and not just 16.

 

Go to your payroll categories>annual leave pay and make sure in the linked wages category there is ONLY annual leave ticked and there is not annual leave loading ticked as well.

 

If both are ticked you will have some very unhappy employees.
