MYOB Balance sheet does not balance due to historical balance issue

A client is using version 2022.10.

When we finalised the 2021 accounts, the balance sheet balanced.

Now there is an amount of $34,436.00 sitting in the historical balancing account and the balance sheet is out by this amount.

I have run a general ledger report and the issue appears to be from prior to 2019....

When I go into Seyup -> Balances -> Account Opening Balances, MYOB advises there is an amount of $34,436.00 left to be allocated.

I have tried changing one of the accounts with a $0.00 balance to $0.01 and going back in and changing it back (as suggested in another post), but this doesn't work.

Why is this happening and how do I fix it?

  • Hi stubrady

If the Balance Sheet doesn't balance and you have tried the Historical Balancing Account refresh then the company file would need to come in for an investigation and possible repair.

I have arranged for a direct email to be sent to you with goes through that process. All the information is contained in the email but do reach out if you have any queries in relation to that process.

Thanks Steven. I've received the email and followed the instructions. Greatly appreciated.

Is anyone from MYOB going to respond to my question?
