Unable to process payroll for July 2020

Hi Everyone

Thank you for your comments and patience in relation to this enquiry. We have shared these with our product teams to look at making potential changes for future payroll years.

AccountRight 2020.2 will now allow pays to be processed for the 2020-21 payroll year (was from 10 AM AST - 01/07/2020).

Clients have also experienced a negative leave message when processing their first pays in the new year with AccountRight 2020.2. More information on this topic can be found on Leave entitlement warning message when processing pays in AccountRight 2020.2

Hi there,

This is a huge issue for my payroll. Ineed to process payroll for 230 staff members all with the pay date of 1st of July 2020.

It is impossible to get this done on the 1st of July when that is when the pays are supposed to go into each employees bank. Normally we transfer the pays the day before just to ensure the money hits each bank on the 1st, employees have scheduled payments to come out and we try to be helpful with that. This in turn is going to affect each and every one of our employees, and i can't even give them much notice.

You need to be able to process payroll in advance. Our fortnight period is 15/06/20 - 28/06/20 with a payment date of 1st of July 2020. I have sent off all my payroll information to the ATO for FY 19/20, i need to process my first payroll for FY 20-21

Anyway, I've only just realised this is an issue this morning when i am about to start processing. This has now caused major issues for us.

I also process the pays the day before the payroll needs to hit employee bank accounts. And their payday is 1st July. To find out today that I cannot process the payroll today as I normally would is beyond frustrating. And I don't work Wednesdays, so I am absolutely furious about this ridiculous change!

Thank you for your additional comments on this topic.

We've passed on those comments to our team. At this time, payroll transactions for the 2020-21 payroll year will be able to be processed in AccountRight 2020.2 from 01/07/2020.

  My other problem with this is that MYOB is getting a bad rap for introducing new features, without testing them properly and then not fixing the problems that occur in a timely manner. I can only think that the people doing these updates have no contact with the real world and don't take into account how a small business operates.
  When looking for jobs online, most of the positions nowadays are using Xero which I am not familiar with. I really like using MYOB when everything is running properly but I feel like more and more businesses are using Xero and this may be something I will need to train myself up on in the future if I ever wanted a new position.

  This is not a satisfactory answer or solution - waiting till the 1st July to be able to process payroll does not work when payroll is supposed to be approved & release into the bank by then.
