MYOB Business (Desktop) Idea Exchange

A small problem I am having with the new version of Account Right, which means things take slightly longer than before and has caused a couple of errors in my data.   I'm not sure if it will be possible to fix, but it would be great if it was....   When, for example, entering invoices in the "Enter Purchases" form I often want to change a single digit of the date. Eg if the last invoice I entered was dated 15/03/2013 and I now need to enter one for 16/03/2013 I instinctively highlight the 5 and type 6 to overwrite it.  However MYOB assumes that I want to change the whole field, and so replaces 15 with 6.  It seems like a small issue, but I have posted a few documents without realising that MYOB has done this, and had to go back to try and find and amend them.   I have encountered a similar issue when selecting report filters - wanting to change a year from 2013 to 2012.  When I highlight the 3, type 2 and press enter it changes the year to 2000 - and then tells me that the period is closed!   I'm sure this is something that I will get used to in time, but at the moment it is slowing me down, and is frustrating.  It conflicts with programs like excel which allow you to highlight and change a single character in a field - and therefore is something that your users are likely to continue to find irritating.   'Amending dates"   ... Each month, I print the "Job Profit & Loss report", export to excel, filter, insert pivot tables and run v-look-ups to give me a single line report for each job number, that gives me  MTD, YTD & Job-To-Date; "Revenue, Costs of Sales, Expenses, Other Inc, Other Exp and Nett Profit", which is time consuming but is essential for the month end revenue and cost accrual process and reporting the month end financial results to management. On my old MYOB software any Receiveable with a Tax Balance came up (even if the Receiveable balance was 0). In the new AccountRight Live this isn't available. This situation arises when a credit note is raised to offset an existing invoice but the inputter uses a different GST code. I have a customer that is late in payments on more than one invoice. My terms are 30 days plus 3% monthly surcharge there after.    I can see the finance charges on the statement, but they are added as a whole of all invoices on the statement. There is no way of separating the finance charge to each individual invoice. When I goto receive payments, and the customer pays only one late invoice off the statement I have no idea what the finance charge would be, the only way to add the finance charge correctly is if the customer pays the total invoice amount at one time, which is unlikely in today's economy.    I suggest that along with finance charges being seen on the statement, one should be able to goto print/email invoices and see the charge that has accumulated for each individual invoice instead of just the collective invoices on a statement.    Or when one creates a statement separate the finance charge with each invoice and then create a total, so that the customer knows what each invoice is worth and the finance charge that it has accumulated instead of the collective amount at the bottom.    Ultimately it should be placed on each invoice so that myself and the customer know exactly what is owing, and so that I can receive the payment correctly in MYOB   "Finance Charges" ... I sometimes key in a statement from a supplier (when not using inventory) rather than each individual invoice using the Professional Layout because it can be less time consuming.  Is it possible to have another column in there for invoice numbers to be entered that would be a field that could be searched, like we can already in Find Transactions, Supplier Invoice Number ?   "Purchases - Professional Layout needs invoice number column that can be searched?"     ... Dear MYOB I work in both Japanese Yen and US dollars accounts and would like to report an issue with the number of available decimal pleaces that MYOB uses for currency exchange. While the USD conversions work well given the relative similarity in figures for USD to AUD, this is not the same for JPY to AUD. For example, please see as follow:- I have a Japanese Yen amount of JPY2,867,542. To show this as the amount I received in my AUD account of $35,310.21, this needs an exchange rate of .012313754463736. If I use this exchange rate, MYOB rounds this exchange rate to 0.12314. That being the case, this recognises the money in as $35,310.91 needing a manual adjustment of 70 cents for this transaction. I would like to see on Inventory Item cards some extra fields such as:   A hyperlink button (you might right-click it to add the URL) next to the Supplier Item Number so that it would link directly to the supplier's web page for that item   A hyperlink button on the Profile tab that would link to the product datasheet that may be on your own computer, your network or on the web.   More user-assignable fields on the Item Details tab.
