MYOB Business/Essentials Idea Exchange

I am reposting this idea from 2017 which has not been implemented, (Link below).   Idea: Need to be able to view quotes online as you can with invoices. Must have an Accept or Decline button at the top of the quote. On Accept of the quote, it must auto-create an invoice. Workflow for an Accepted quote: Customer views quote online just like invoicing > customer accepts the quote online > business gets an email notification of the accepted quote with a link to the original in MYOB > quote automatically turns into an invoice in MYOB under the customer's details > customer automatically gets an email notification of the new invoice > customer pays the new invoice.   Without this feature, you MUST: Get in touch with the customer or they get in touch with you, to discuss accepting the quote. Go into their quote. Then manually change the status to Accepted. Then click the Convert to Invoice button. Then you must click the accept button on the pop-up. Then you must click email invoice. Then you must click send invoice from the email invoice pop-up. OMG! Why has this not been implemented? For businesses that send lots of quotes, this would be a huge time saver. We have limited abilities to customise the invoice template. What we require is for the footer section to be editable.   The only options we have are customising the Header Style and Header Information.   ~ A screenshot mockup is attached for reference.   Options we require in the footer are: Have the footer editable to add/remove widgets or boxes. Have these editable in the master template. Have the option to edit individual invoices for deeper customisation. (For some clients we do not want to give bank details and only give them card options).   The screenshot attached - sections numbered I have added a mockup design for a Footer section dropdown. Named each box in the footer as Widgets 1, 2, and 3 for reference purposes. Widgets 1,2,3 are set to Add as default. (Because MYOB already has them there). However, when you select No it will remove the widget. Eg: Select No on BPAY and it will remove the BYAY box widget. Set to No as default, but have the option to add an additional comment box by selecting Yes. The notes section is good, but as web developers, we have additional final invoice terms on our invoices. Placing this information in the Notes section will make the invoice look cluttered, so if we had an option to place text at the footer > full width in a smaller font (say 10px), would be handy. Only visible once the Comment box Yes is selected. It conditionally opens up the Comment box placement option.   We feel that deeper template customisation is required as all our clients have different needs. When coding bank transactions the drop-down list for accounts is ridiculously small.  At best only three accounts are visible.  That is not very helpful when trying to scroll around to find the account you need. A drop-down list showing 10-12 accounts would be much better.  For comparison, Xero shows six accounts in its drop-down list. ... View more

Really need to be able to change the customer once an invoice has been saved in Myob Business. It seems that Myob has taken a step backwards in not allowing you to edit the customer in the Business subscripotopns but you can in AccountRight.  ... View more

As you can see in the attched screenshot, it is very difficult to see the supplier names clearly so it would be usefule if in the bills owing screen you could edit the width of the columns or it should automatically show the name in full. ... View more

Can you please change the background setting to show the supplier invoice # in bank feeds when matching supplier payment not MYOB auto generated bill #. The bill number means nothing to us when the client reference the supplier invoice number when paying supplier invoices. There is so much extra time required to locate what bill # matches the invoice #.  ... View more

Hi Team,   The ability to attach supporting documents to a General Journal or Receive money transaction is long overdue.   I have the situation where I like to attach the payment slip for our BAS to the payment that we make each time we lodge a BAS however this quarter the BAS results in a refund.   I cannot enter this transaction as a minus payment and when I create a Spend money transaction, I cannot attach a copy of the BAS for later reference.  As I am unable to attach a document to a General Journal entry either, the system has once again failed to be an efficient product to use.   Regards,   AlanT ... Please allow us to edit the Payslip template in MYOB Essentials.     I have employees who are on hourly and some on salary.  The hourly rate showing on the salary payslip and the annual salary showing on the casual hourly rate payslip is misleading and looks very unprofessional.   The layout of the Payslip is also not well thought out.  Very sad indeed.   "Payslips" ... I would like to see the 'Prepare a Bank Deposit' feature brought into MYOB Essentials.  I have a client who has many Sales invoices of the same value and a lot of his customers pay their invoice online so all these payments sit in Undeposited funds.  The feature 'Automatically match Bank transactions to MYOB bills and invoices' was also ticked so he now has a mess of invoices that have been matched incorrectly and he has created more of a mess trying to 'fix' it.  I think it would be beneficial for him if he could Prepare a Bank deposit and make sure the invoice payments he is picking up aggress to his Online payments report for that day.  Could we also make the feature 'Automatically match Bank transactions to MYOB bills and invoices' an option to choose rather than a default? ... Hi Team,   The new Bank Transactions window needs to have a Refresh option that will refresh the list of unallocated transactions using your current preferred options.   At the moment, if you use the [F5] key to refresh the window, the screen reverts back to the default sort order of oldest on top.  If you have the entries sorted into any other order, these preferences are lost.   Please direct your development efforts to making this software much easier to use.   Thanks,   AlanT   ... So once again I feel that MYOB over complicates things and then doesnt believe it is ever at fault.   Recently I recieved my monthly bill which was a lot higher than normal. Why? Because apparently Bpay isn't included in the Apply Surcharge field.    Im not sure if my screen shot will show but it clearly aligns Bpay with all other online payments and then the box below says that you can apply a surcharge.    When questioning MYOB I got the good old "it states it in the terms and conditions" I asked if it looked misleeding and they didnt have an answer.    I asked to have Bpay removed from a service that is offered but apparently they can't do that either.    In fact it appears that MYOB can't do a lot of things. I would love to see a 'save and create new' button for creating invoice payments on MYOB Business.   When you currently create an invoice payment, you click save and then it takes you back to the 'Invoices' page so adding multiple payments (allocated to different customers) is quite a lengthy process as you keep having to go back into 'Create invoice payment.' With the 'save and create new' button, it would also be good to keep the selected bank account and payment date instead of defaulting back to the current date and default account.  ... View more

Hello  In the new MYOB you cannot print multipule invoices, this is very frustrating. When using the old platform you could select the invoices and then hit print. Now you have to select an invoice and down load that invoice and then print the pdf, this is a very long process and needs to be rectified. Its added so much time to my day and also now i have hundreds of downloaded pdf's of invoices I dont need.   Please let me know how we can print multipul invoices   Regards Emma ... View more

Please produce a report that shows annual leave liabilites in dollar value, this is espeically important at the financial year end. Having it in hours is not helpful to an external accountant, as the report essentially doesn't give them any information. We were using Ace Payroll before we moved to MYOB Essentials and their "Leave Owing Report" had the Days Owing, Daily Rate and the Amount for each employee, with a Total Holiday Pay Owing for the company at the bottom. ... We use the In Tray copiously and match transactions to payments wherever possible. Usually this is to transactions that have come in from the bank.   Bank transactions view Ideas: I'd love to see an indicator beside a bank line where there's a suggested match from the In Tray. This suggested match could be based on the date and value extracted from the file. Similar to old Essentials. If certainty is 98%+ I'd like those attachments to be attached without user input. Clicking the suggestion icon could immediately link the attachment to this transaction.   Bank lines with attachments have an icon already. Clicking this icon could open a modal preview of the attachment, its OCR details, and a button to immediately "un-link" the attachment(s). Effectively as an un-do for the one-click or automated attachment methods noted above.   Areas that could be improved: The "View" link opens a new window with a download prompt. A modal preview or new tab to web-view rather than download would be much faster for us.   The In Tray picker is sorted by file upload date, probably the least useful option. It'd be more helpful to sort it with suggested matches at the top, highlighted, then the rest by effective date with those dates that are relevant to the transaction above others.   The In Tray picker is a radio button but it needs to be a checkbox allowing multiple selections.   When an attachment is linked to a bank line, it can only be downloaded or unlinked. A View option in a modal or new window would be preferable.   In Tray view: If suggested matches are re-implemented, the apparently matching bank line (showing date, value, and a truncated description; when clicked show full details in a tooltip) could be added under the relevant file row, with a button to immediately Attach the item and remove it from the In Tray view.     In essence I miss suggested matches! And making it easier to pair evidence with transactions would be very helpful. Cheers ... View more
