Deposits received to cover an invoice and also a cash purchase

Before the "update to MYOB Essentials" it was relatively easy to split such deposits between the invoice applicable and the cash purchase just made.  Since the update it has become a nightmare to handle this.  Can anyone help as at times my business has many such payments received ?

    Please let us know which you are having an issue with. Also, kindly provide us with more details such as what kind of payment you are trying to process. Will it be a payment to you? Or a payment to a supplier? This will help us assist you efficiently.
