ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Secure Invoicing Hey Mike, You're failing to read the room. MYOB's reasoning is flawed. Speak to MYOB's Customer Resolutions Specialists and they'll explain it better to you. If MYOB was a truly customer-focussed business, they would have designed it to be an opt-in service and saved everyone (customers and MYOB employees alike) all this grief and extra work. PLEASE escalate this issue to your senior management. Re: Secure Invoicing Email MYOB and ask them to exempt you from online invoicing - refer to a msg above from Haire as to suitable wording (feedback@myob.com). When I dealt with the Customer Resolutions Specialist, she was very understanding. I explained that our business does not need online payments - we issue a small number of large value invoices each month & no business credit card would have a big enough limit to pay some of our invoices. It sounds like that team are also very frustrated with the decision that has been made as it's making more work for them, so you just need to get past the muppets who monitor this forum who can only read from the company play-book. If you don't hear back from them in a reasonable timeframe, contact Australian Financial Complaints Authority, and guaranteed you'll hear from MYOB within 24 hours. Re: Secure Invoicing I went through their website: https://www.afca.org.au/make-a-complaint Strangely enough, after contacting AFCA I got a super-prompt response from MYOB. Furthermore, the "customer complaints" team at MYOB is singing from a different song sheet than the team monitoring these chats are. Bills to Pay: changing the "transaction description" field. In the desktop version, you can change the "transaction description" field when setting up a "bill to pay". This field does not exist on the equivalent screen on the online version. It does exist in the "spend money" screen in the online version - albeit under a slightly description of "Description of Transaction". How can I change the "Transaction Description" field (that is used in the General Ledger Report) for transactions that have been generated from the "Bills to Pay" menu in the online version of MYOB Business? Re: Secure Invoicing The direct debit authority is stored - it is open ended and has no time limit on it. Which clause of the AML/CTF Act states that MYOB needs to request this as part of the 'know your customer' process? All we are asking is that MYOB demonstrates why a direct debit authority is necessary to verify a customer's identity. Re: Secure Invoicing Hi Mike_MYOB - Just 21 hours later and I have an exemption from MYOB. Maybe they're not that rare after all. The lovely lady I spoke to confirmed what I have seen on this forum - there has been plenty of push-back from customers and as a result, recommendations have been made to management to change the process. Re: Secure Invoicing I lodged a complaint via the email address feedback@myob.com and received a phone call within 24hours. We now have an exemption from completing the "business verification" process and can continue sending out invoices via email. The nature of our business (i.e. not many invoices but a large individual value) means our customers would NEVER pay their invoice on a credit card or via Apple Pay. What a complete waste of my time and MYOB's customer complaints team - it all could have been avoided if they designed the upgrade as an opt-in process. Re: Secure Invoicing That I certainly will, and I'll lodge a complaint with AFCA, as it is apparent that MYOB will only take sensible action when forced to by the external regulator. Such a waste of your resources and ACFA's. If only MYOB would remember the old adage "the customer is always right". Re: Secure Invoicing A very simple solution to this HUGE issue, that is causing such ANGST (including negative publicity) amongst your customers, would be to separate the two features, so that your customers can CHOOSE which feature they would like to use. Using the second feature may well be dependant upon signing up for the first, but it is not at all necessary to sign up for the second and then opt out of the second, just to get access to the first. Re: Secure Invoicing I'm not holding my breath in anticipation.... (insert laughing emoji here!)
