General Journal Import Error

Hi,

When I view my text file and prepare to import in MYOB, both the account code and job code are correct. However I keep having the error as "account number not found in list of postablle accounts". When I view the error text both account number and job code are converted into different number. I am not sure why? I have changed the format to text but still didn't work. Can someone please help me out.

    Hi Lannie , welcome to the forum.  The log file displays internal ID numbers in place of actual account or job numbers. This can help in cases where the account number does not exist.  Your error message seems to suggest that one or more of the account numbers supplied is not a detail account. Can you check that?

    Hi Lannie,

    Thank you so much for your post and welcome to the Community Forum! Sorry to hear that you were not able not able to import and thanks for the information. When you receive this Error from a failed import it usually means there was no corresponding account code in the accounts list.  Check that there definitely is an expense account using that account code in the accounts list if you haven't already. And also, can you please try to save the file in Notepad then try to import it in MYOB?
