Copy data from production company file

Hi MYOB dev team,

We have a question on the implementation.

Background:

We are using the open-access developer account. Our client has a file in the cloud (AccountRight). We are developing an MYOB solution for our client where they want to automate the invoice creation process using API's. Whenever a customer pays for their service, the website connects to their company file and create an invoice in it.

Question:

Is it possible to copy a few data or structure from our current production company file to our testing file to use it for our development? We want to demonstrate how the solution will work for their current company file setup.

Thanks

Sandeep

    Hi SanBhat,

Thanks for reaching out, Yes there are two ways to move data from one company file to another. The first is using the API and the second is to use the in-product Import/Export assistance.

When using the API you would need to complete a GET request to the desired endpoint of the company file. With some modifications, you can POST this to your test company file. You can view the endpoints HERE for what is available to GET/POST via the API. You can also create a support request with us HERE.

The second option is to use the in-product Import/Export function, please see our support note on Importing and Exporting Tips. The API team do not support the in product functions of AccountRight however you can contact our technical support team for further support on Import/Export.

      Hi Han-Solo

      Thanks for your message.

When you said the test file, did you mean the "public test" file that is available for everyone for testing? Is it possible to create/use one of our own test file?

When we logged into desktop AccountRight, we saw two files, one is our production file and other is "Smokeball AccountRight Online Test.." (which is a public file). See attachment. We would like to test on our own test file. Can we do that?

      Thanks

        Hi MYOB team

I have tried creating a new company file but it didn't allow me to save it in the cloud, asking me to enter a serial number. I was able to create a file on local though.

I have entered the serial numbers of my current products (see attachment) but it didn't work.

What is missing? Do I need to upgrade my account? I am using open-access developer account and trying to create account right plus file ( same as we have in production).

        Thanks

        Sandeep
