Create a Copy of MYOB company file

To create a copy of your MYOB online file, you may need to create a backup. To do this, kindly log into your AccountRight > Go to File > Select Backup, and then the Back Up Company File window will appear. This window will allow you to select the location where you want to save your backup as well as to create a password for the backup. For further information on how to create a backup, kindly check The Help Article: Back up your company file.

I have created the backup but now need to create a test file for it, rather than use my live file.  I know that I can restore from backup but I need an actual file to restore it to.  Any ideas, please?

Can anyone help me create a TEST file for my current MYOB business file, please?

I have a backup.  I need to be able to restore that backup to a TEST MYOB file.  Clearwater is not showing on my list of Sample Co's.

The link provided by Doreen_P  explains how to backup your file. The link also has links for how to restore your backup. Follow those instructions.

You must restore it locally. You cannot restore it online, unless you have a subscription for the test file. If you need to test online, and you already have your live file online, you will need to take out another subscription. Most people test with offline copy first.

I have a backup.  Thank you.  I have been backing up and restoring MYOB files for about 15 years.

I need to be able to test how to import data into MYOB in various ways.

I do not have a subscription for a test file and I do not need a new company file as I will eventually be importing it into the current company file.

Please can you send instructions on how to restore to a file completely separate from my online file as I do not want to change any data on my online file.  I need a company file that is separate from my current online one so that I can test prior to implementing a new procedure.

See this link (which was linked in the earlier links provided). Follow the instructions to restore locally. When restoring, change the file name by appending _test to the end of the file name. Once you open the file, append _test to the company name under Setup > Company Information. These 2 steps will clearly identify it as a test file.
