Hi All,I have seen some conflicting information on this so would love to hear exactly what the situation is from someone who knows.I used to use an ODBC link to access the back end of MYOB with Excel. It appears this is no longer supported and I now need to subscribe to a 3rd party software like CData. Is this correct?A lot of Chat GPT responses are telling me to access the database via the MYOB API but this requires authenticating with https://secure.myob.com/oauth2/v1/authorize to retrieve an access token so this does not appear to be viable without a custom build interface. Given that all I am looking for is to build Power BI reports or Excel reports, I am looking for any of the following:The details of a MYOB ODBC connectorA method of parsing my MYOB credentials through an Excel data linkA work around to obtain an access token without creating a custom built interface so that I can utilise the MYOB APIA recommendation for a well priced 3rd party MYOB connectorThanks,Steve

Power BI can't easily handle the required token refresh. There are different ways to achieve this but require a complex bit of setup and configuration. As someone who's been developing with Power BI for about 10 years, I can say that it'll be a highly complex matter to join Power BI directly to MYOB. Power BI can't easily handle the required token refresh. There are different ways to achieve this but require a complex bit of setup and configuration. Unfortunately, don't know of any third parties who've developed an integration to Power BI.

MYOB doesn’t currently have a direct, built-in API connector for Power BI. However, you can still connect MYOB data to Power BI using third-party connectors like cdata.com. Hopefully, another developer in the community can jump in with more specifics, but if you need more help, don’t hesitate to reach out to the support team via developer.myob.com.

Cdata is an option, although I lost hours trying to get it to work with no success. The connection kept saying it was connected but I would get authorisation errors when I tried querying the data. The cdata support wasn't able to help either. I ended up exporting the data and pulling the data into an excel model through Power Query. It wasn't a great time.

You can use a custom connector in Power Automate to connect via the MYOB API and a Flow in Power Automate to move the data to Excel. Run a recurring flow to get the data into Excel as often as you need it.

Thanks shaneSL, that's not a terrible idea. Still very frustrating that it takes so much work. I'm actually in the process of integrating the client to a new system.
