Emails being sent as plain text

Hi Ryan,

I'm using the MSI version on a TS and since upgrading to 2022.9 - no signature, just MYOB's plain text statement - did you end up getting it sorted?

Hi blakeb - nope no joy yet, and no response from MYOB that Ive seen.

It seemed to oddly occaisionally work, but 99.9% of the time sent as plain text - definately needs to be caused by a recent update.

I have users experiencing the same thing, MYOB AR SE latest version running office 2016 LTSC, i got in touch with a tech yesterday and was told 2 conflicting stories one being that SE no longer supports signatures (which they backtracked on once i tried to reconfirm) and the other blaming an update within outlook.

However if the update to outlook was the issue then our users runnung MYOB AR on their desktops and the same version of outlook it would also not work there however it does. so i also agree something within Server Edition is to blame for this.

Yeah Im think it has to be an issue with MYOB - since it only started after an update to MYOB, not to anything else.

How can we ping a MYOB moderator or tech support to get support on this?

Hi Everyone

If you are using a desktop email client, such as Outlook, to email the system will use the default email signature set within that default email client. If you are needing to include that in your emails, we do recommend reviewing that set up for your email client and default signature.

HTML or Plain text is a setting usually under the Mail settings in Outlook.

Nothing in outlook has changed, Previous to the current update signatures would attach to all emails. Since the current update they no longer attach to the MYOB ones but still attach to normal emails.

As Kraziel mentioned, our environments havent changed, MYOB has just stopped sending emails in the fashion it used to in these environments.

Eg. previously you would "see" the Outlook integration occur, eg MYOB creating a new email and sending it, but now I am not seeing this, as if the sending process is happening in the background as opposed to in the foreground.

I think something fundemental has changed with the process in a recent update.  Eg I also started to get the Outlook automation prompt 'a program is trying to send email on your behalf' and you have to click 'ok' where as we were not seeing this before.

To combat the 'a program is trying to send email on your behalf' allow/deny prompt we have historically used a 3rd party program named ClickYes Pro, using the outlook.exe file path to allow automatic sending of emails. This recently began to fail and allow/deny returned. Problem was resolved after adding the path below to ClickYes Pro.

C:\Program Files (x86)\MYOB\AccountRightServerEdition\app-2022.900.247350\Huxley\Huxley.Application.exe

I'm assuming it's this exe file that is responsible for sending emails in text format and not the preferred html.

I actually solved that without any third party applications.  (we have also used the old Click Yes back in the day)

The solution was a registry tweak.

However no solution forthcoming for this main issue of plain text, no signature emails as yet.
