Manually changing the gst

Hello

I'm an owner of a coffee van and purchase alot of goods for example coles

- milk

- marshmellows

- coke no sugar

- tomatoes

- juice box

total comes to $70.57 and total gst is $5.17 how do I manually change the gst amount as it doesn't individually have itemised gst for each item

    Hi Bill075

Thank you for your post. Welcome to the Community Forum.

If you have items that need a different Tax Code to be used, you can set this up in your Items. You can go to Inventory/Sales/Purchases >> Click Items >> Select Item ID >> In the Selling section, you will have the option to change the Tax Code. If the Tax Codes listed don't apply to your item, I recommend going to the Accounting menu >> Tax Codes. In here you will see all of your Tax Codes available and will give you the option to create one if needed.

This Help Article, Tax Codes, can be used as a guide on managing your tax codes.

  • Hi Bill075

Thanks for the update. Apologies for the delayed response.

Changing the GST amount manually is not advisable, this will cause the expected tax total based on the tax code not to reconcile with the actual tax total. You may also check This Help Article Recording a GST-only transaction to provide you with more information and instructions.

    Hi Billie

this is a common dilemma with other payments including insurances, motor vehicle registrations gst on importsetc

If you mark every line as GST, then change the actual GST amount that works for me
