You can't edit transactions from a previous financial year.

Why can't you edit transactions pre 1st July.  I am simply trying to change an account allocation for a transaction but it does not allow it as it states  I'm not allowed to edit in the previous financial year.  HELP! This is a standard requirement of tidying accounts

    Hi luc

    Thanks for reaching out.

Sorry to hear about your difficulty trying to edit transactions. There are a lot of possible reasons that could hinder you from editing transactions from previous financial years.

I would highly suggest checking if your file has a lock date by clicking Name of your business > Business Setting > Lock date as it's possible that you are trying to edit transactions before the lock date. Also, you could check your user access if you have administrator access to the file. If none of these works please send us a screenshot of the exact error message when trying to delete a transaction.

We look forward to your response.

    Cheers,

    Genreve

    Hi Genreve,

Thank you for getting back to me – yes I have unlocked the lock date.

Please see attached screenshot of the error message as requested.  All I have tried to do is change the account allocation from expense account to an asset account.

    Hi luc

Thanks for the reply and the information you have given so far.

For us to check on this further please send us a private message containing a screenshot of the business details under Business settings (Name of the business > Business setting) at the bottom that shows the lock date and financial year.

We look forward to your response.

    Cheers,
