Accidentally paid twice for one invoice by two different parties

Hey so I do contract work for a real estate company and have found mistakes in my bank transactions.

 

I have found an invoice being paid twice in multiple statements sent to me by the real estate agency. Should I and how would I refund this or is it different rules for large companies?

    HI BigHoss, 

     

    If a payment ends up being more than the invoice amount, it’ll create a credit. You can just record the payment twice against the same invoice. After that, you can refund the extra amount.
