Accounting figures different in Browser vs Desktop

Why does the desk top version balance sheet differ to the Web browser figures??

  • Hi Chris,

    Thanks for the assist.

I do not use the web browser as such but the financial year is the same as the desktop.

We have narrowed down some issues with eg. freight expenses being shown different in reports derived from both online and desktop.  I have lodged the same question with MYOB previously.  This is the problem with the two programs desktop and online not being identical and will continue to be a problem moving forward yet we are paying for the accountright capability yet we don't get full capacity online?  Things such as Pay Liabilities is not online, Card file emailing directly from here to customers or suppliers, No Purchases or Sales register (verrrrrry frustrating as I love this about the desktop!)

  • Hi

Could you check the accounting method used for each report.
For example, if the balance sheet was run in cash accounting it would be very different to an accrual accounting balance sheet which is AccountRight default accounting method.
You can find the accounting method used for the report at top before running the report
Also check the financial year your business is defaulted to in business settings of browser version
    Regards Chris

    Hi CFAccounts,

Thanks for confirming how you ran the reports. The reports you see in the desktop and browser versions don’t always line up because they process transactions a bit differently. Filters and report settings can also vary, which is usually where the mismatch comes from. It’s a good idea to go through the reports line by line to see where things start to differ. You can also try changing the accounting method in the browser, then switching it back to the one you’re using on desktop. Clearing cache and doing that switch usually helps other users who run into the same issue.

If things still don’t match after that, our team will need to take a closer look. You can reach out via live chat through our virtual assistant MOCA, or lodge a support ticket through My Account so they can investigate what’s causing the discrepancies.

    Cheers,

    Princess
