Pay run and STP Reporting are different

I have a payrun in which we have a one off $1,000 bonus to an employee. When I did the payrun the gross and net pays calculated to be correct. However, when I go to the Single Touch Payroll Report the Gross amount is incorrect.

The payrun gross is $7,810, but in the STP reporting section it has the Gross at $6,810 (sent to the ATO). This to me looks like it has not reported the $1,000 bonus. In the Single Touch Payroll reporting and the payrun the PAYG for this period is correct.

How do I get the Single Touch Payroll reporting to agree with the payrun?

    Hi, Rum

    Thanks for your post.

If the pay run under STP reporting shows incorrect figures, we recommend checking the ATO reporting category for the $1000 bonus. There is a possibility that the bonus is not yet assigned to an ATO reporting category. If changes have been made, please send an update event to make sure ATO receives the up-to-date figures for your employees. Also, please be advised that after changing the ATO reporting category, the amount is shown under the STP reporting window for that specific pay run. Instead, you can check the payroll activity, payroll register, and YTD verification report to check the figures.

You may refer to the Help Article: Assign ATO reporting categories for Single Touch Payroll reporting and View Single Touch Payroll reports (under To send an update event) for more information.
