Schedular payments for contractors registered for GST

NZ based - we have had a few of our labour only contractors, who are paid using schedular payments through MYOB Business payroll, exceed the 60K threshold for GST registration and so they have registered for GST.

Is there a way, moving forward, that we can continue to pay them through the payroll system but add GST? I see on the MYOB support for Ace Payroll that there is a way to do it on that system but not sure how to sort it with MYOB business.

I've talked to our accountant who says that they must be paid via schedular payments, just wanting a tidy way to process it

  • Hi Gonadular,

MYOB Business doesn't directly support adding GST to schedular payments. Your best bet is to have a chat with your accountant to sort out how to handle the contractor payments. or you can manually calculate the GST and add it to your contractor payments. Hopefully, another member I know jenniek might have some handy tips to share on this one.

    Cheers,

    Hi Gonadular

Business payroll doesn't cope with GST being included in schedular payments - are you only paying labour contractors or do you pay PAYE employees as well? Ace Payroll is around for another 12 months only, so probably not the best option - what Payroll are you using at present? Happy that you contact me offline - jennie@jkbusiness.co.nz
