Upgrading to Business from v19.5

We have just upgraded from the old v19.5 to Business(lite?). In the old version a lot of useful stuff was tied to the customer: Tax codes (we sell wholesale and retail), comments (opening hours, preferred delivery days, locations etc. this is used by the warehouse drivers as delivery instructions), invoice style and layout (commercial invoices could split out WET and GST), BSB and account number for customer payment. Our process is: The invoice is raised; a pdf is sent to the warehouse and a paper copy attached to carton which is then delivered.

None of this is available in Business.

After a chat session with MYOB we found a clunky work-around for the tax codes (new sales accounts for commercial and retail sales that need to be entered at every line item).

I’m hoping there may be solutions for the other problems.

    Hi Richard56​ 

    If you upgraded because you could no longer confirm your file, then there is a third party (FGH Tables), that provides confirmation codes for a reasonable fee. You could continue with your old version and cancel the subscription until there is a suitable alternative.

    If you upgraded because you could no longer confirm your file, then there is a third party (FGH Tables), that provides confirmation codes for a reasonable fee. You could continue with your old version and cancel the subscription until there is a suitable alternative.

      That's great! FGH seems like a good way out of this.

      (It's odd that MYOB would provide an upgrade that is less useful than the prior version)

      Liz, I have AccountRight PLus V 19.5 . I haven't used it for about 10 years ( yes I have all my old back up files etc - but 5 of us started a Facebook page STOP DATA CENTRES IN NZ. Now we each say deposit $10 on a pension day or whatever . One lady paid for T Shirts and Hoodies - which we are selling obviously to recoup her money and buy more. 

      I need to be able to keep a VERY STRICT control over said money. Don't want to be accused later.

      I cannot afford to do an online subscription on my pension because honestly its not worth it with the minimal transactions that are going through. But as i say, I honestly want everything above board and clear and precise

      How can I re install my Accounting Package on my new computer - everything I gave away when I had to move out of my rented home and into a bus as I couldn't afford the rent. 

      I do have my Disc long Serial number and the original disc to load

      Are you able to help me and the ladies PLEASE and thank you

        Hi Jill

        The Classic versions do work on new computers but can be difficult to install because of Microsoft updates that complicate the issue. You can use the disc if you have a disc player on your computer to install but I generally download from the MYOB Software Downloads page here:

        I have found that you may need to Run or Open as Administrator and may even need to change Compatibility under Properties for the Installer, or change User, plus other tips such as Gavin12345's below - it all depends upon your setup as to getting it to install and run but once you have access, you can just start using your file as the Serial Number is in the file not in the program. If MYOB confirmation won't work (mine are still confirming), then contact FGH Tables for a Confirmation Code. It's very reasonably priced and will keep your system running.
