Auto Build

I'm recently new to MYOB, but I have a requirment to use the Auto-build function to  'unbuild' 1 item to make 3 identical items.   Basically a reverse Autobuild function

Simple example - is that I have a six pack of beer I normally inventory and sell, but I have a customer who wants to buy a single beer.

I want to decrement my stock of 6packs by one, but create a new stock item of single bottle/cans of beer.

Is this possible ?

Is this possible?

Hi Pixii , create an item for the single bottle, then add an autobuild definition to the 6-pack that says 1 6pack is made up of 6 singles, Then (un)build -1 6-packs, which will reduce stock of 6packs by 1 and add 6 bottles.

    Thnaks,

I undertadn your suggestions, but te issue is that I buy the 6 pack as a 6 pack. I dont buy single bottles then Autobuild into a 6 pack.

    Ideally I want to do a minus autobuild (Auto-dismantle :-)) ?

eg  -1 Six pack (from Stock) = 6 Bottles

    That possible ?

    Another question on same topic.

Can the 6 pack be purchased as a finnshed product and also be a Autobuild item so that i can choose to autobuild or purchase the finnished item?

I relality, I will always buy the 6 pack, not the single Bottle, but occasionally I will split the 6 pack and sell a bottle.

    Cheers:-)

    Hi Pixii

I actually wouldn't auto-build the item at all - I would do it via the number of items per buying/selling unit.

When you go into an item in the Buying Details you have the option for the Number of Items per Buying Unit. This is where you can specify the number of items you are buying in when you purchase 1 of that item. For example, if we take your "6-pack"  time, you set the Number of Items per Buying Unit to be 6. This way when you purchased 1 from the supplier you were getting in 6 individual units into stock ( 2 units brought = 12 individual stock units...).
