Inventory - Move Item

Hi Guys,

We are using AccountRight Plus AU - V 2022.5.0.

I do not have a "Move Inventory" button on my inventory "Command Centre" page. We have used "Adjust Inventory" in the past, and it has caused count errors in our stock for every stock take that we have done for the last 3 years (Im trying to get to the bottom of it right now, as it is not a true figure to write off).

We purchase under 1 item number and sell under another, as well as inventory the item. This could be the confusion.

Is there a way that I can have a "move inventory" button, to make it simpler?

  • Hello SusieExpTech

We do suggest using the Adjust inventory and you would just take away the stock from one item number and increase that of the other.

I have attached our Help Article on making inventory adjustments here for you.

Have you heard of our AccountRight Ideas Exchange? It's where you can give and vote for other suggestions that go directly to our developers. You might like to add your suggestion about a simple move button here.

A Move option is only for Premier files which use multiple inventoy locations, you can move stock from warehouse A to warehouse B.

MYOB has many issues (aka bugs) in the Inventory module, some have been fixed, many have not. So the cause of the stock issues might be a combination of things, or simply how you are trying to handle it. I would suggest getting a MYOB experienced consultant in to help you sort it out and set up inventory to work the way you need.

Purchasing an Item as X and selling as Y will invariably cause balance issues. MYOB has an autobuild function where you can 'create' Item Y from Item X and if MYOB works correctly it will track that Item X has become Item Y and has been sold, etc. You may want to look into this function.

    Regards
