Cannot set category on Create Bill screen

I currently have several stores which are each setup with an individual AccountRight company file even though they are all part of the same company.

I'm want to consolidate these stores into a single AccountRight company and use Categories to identify each store for reporting etc.

I've enabled categories for my company file and set this as required.

When I use AccountRight on my PC to create a bill I am prompted to set a category.

When I create a bill via the browser interface there is no option to select a category and I get the following error when trying to save the bill:

An unrecognised error occurred - PurchaseEvent_NotMatchLiabilityAccountForTrackingPayables
An unrecognised error occurred - PurchaseEvent_NotLiabilityAccountWarning
You must specify a category.

If this approach isn't possible, can anyone suggest a better way to achieve the goal of reporting on performance for individual stores?

    Hi clubsoda

Thanks for posting and welcome to the Community Forum.

I'm sorry to hear about your difficulties with adding a category from the web browser. Unfortunately, the category feature is not available in the browser version of the application. If you set the category as required on the desktop version, you can only edit transactions from the browser but not create them. Rest assured we will raise this to the development team as a suggestion.

In the meantime, feel free to post again if you have any other concerns.

    Thanks,

    Genreve

Ok, thanks. FYI, I created a bill on Desktop and set category but this is not visible on the bill in the browser version either.
