Editing a recurring transaction to update details causes system error

I've been updating some of our recurring sales transactions as some of the details have changed. Each time I try to save the update, it causes a system error:

Obviously, I can work around and just create a new recurring transaction, but I was hoping to save time by editing the current recurring transaction as it has all the relevant details.

I can edit recurring journals, and I've just tested a recurring purchase (I don't typically use recurring purchases).

This happens both in a Windows 10 and 11 operating system.

  • Hi CarolDuncan,

The ValidationException error on your recurring transactions sounds like a bit of a hiccup. No stress, there's a workaround for this. You can check out this handy guide for more info on how to troubleshoot and get things sorted.

This has been happening for months.  Just tried your workaround to no effect.

Happens when editing from the Recurring Transactions list and also when editing directly from the transaction.

The more we pay, the fewer features we are able to use. Incredibly frustrating
