Recurring transactions not working in desktop version

Hi, 

 

I run a couple of offline AccountRight Plus company files (in addition to my online files) and recently my recurring transactions won't save - either from the popup Reminders window or from the To Do List.  I've tried just recording from the list of transactions window or from within the transaction that I open from that list but the transactions just don't save and the data/dates in the list don't change. 

 

Does anyone know why this is happening?  I believe I'm on the current version 2025.9.1 3.

    Good question! Yes, you can have SE and the PC edition installed on the same computer, they won’t clash. If you want to try that, just make sure you’re only opening your company file in one program at a time, and it’s a good idea to take a backup first just in case.

    Thanks for your reply.  I had an online support chat with Joan yesterday afternoon and we found that the previous version is working fine, there may be a bug in the newer version.  It turned out it wasn't just recurring transactions, nothing would save at all so Joan said she'd log a ticket.  I'm using the previous version to be able to continue working for now.

    Sorry, I've only just seen your reply now! I cleared my cache on my PC and that worked thank you! I wish Joan knew about this option so I didn't have to keep reinstalling V2025.7. Anyway, now with the changes to offline AR coming up I'm looking at using SE so I can continue to use my offline files indefinitely. Unfortunately I'm having the same issues with SE where transactions aren't saving so I cleared the cache (this version is on our server which I can log in to) but it didn't work this time. Do you have any other ideas?

    Hi SharonSL,

     

    Thanks for the update! Totally agree, clearing the cache can definitely work wonders, but not always. It's a bit odd that you’re still hitting the same issue even on the Server Edition. There are a few environmental things worth checking too as they can sometimes cause problems. I’d suggest making sure Windows is fully up to date, then rebooting the server or even trying a reinstall. If still doesn't help, our team would be more than happy to dig into it with you and get it sorted.

    Thanks for your quick response.  Just wondering, can you run SE and the PC edition on the same machine? I thought I might try that first if that's an option as the PC edition is now working on my PC ok.

    Thanks Sai, I've installed it and all seems to be working :)
