Inventory item quantity on hand (using items list) does not match quantiity on hand when using item register

20/12/2023 @ 3:41pm

My inventory code SS916 shows on hand quantity of 7306.798 ft when checking via the items list.

We have only one location in use for this item.

When looking at the running total for the same item in the items register it shows an on hand quantity of 3556.798

Out of curiosity I tried to adjust the stock by more than 3556.798 and the system simply shows a neagtive quantity on hand, despite the fact we don't allow negative stock values.

  • Hi ARTmaslen_AZ

What you are seeing is caused by bugs in MYOB's inventory module. From my experience, what you see in the Item List screen is the correct figure and should match what appears on the Inventory Value Reconciliation screen for the latest transaction date - if not you may have file errors caused by these bugs. The Item Register Detail reports and screens seem to change the on hand quantity depending on the report start date. And if the Item is used on the same invoice 2 or 3 times, the Item Register Detail figures are all messed up. Same if you use multiple inventory locations.

MYOB may fix these one day, or not.

    Regards

    Gavin

    Hi ARTmaslen_AZ

Thanks for posting your concern in the forum.

Sorry to hear about your inventory-on-hand value difference. In my understanding, the on-hand quantity value of the inventory item from the item list is different from the item register because the item register is pulling data from date ranges. While the items list provides data values for all time, the item register shows data for a certain date range.

Feel free to let us know if your Inventory Value Reconciliation report does not match the current on-hand values in the item list (as suggested by gavin12345), as this means that you have inventory data issues.

Let us know if you require any other assistance.

    Thanks,
    Genreve

      Thanks for responding.

Understand that the register is using date ranges to pull the data however I can set a 10 year date range, 5 back and 5 forward, and see the same result.

I can confirm my reconciliation report quantity matches the on hand hand quantity shown in the item list.

    Hi Genreve_S

I received your private message request for serial number and other details, I replied with the requested information but haven't received a response since that time.

I am still having the same issue with the same code, can we please continue the investigation?

    Thanks,

    Anton
