Sales invoice numbers

Our client is currently using AccountRight 2022.8 and they are having issues with the invoice numbers. Firstly, the system is producing numbers with only 5 numbers (used to be 8). Secondly, the invoice number is not automatically changing to the next sequential number, rather remaining on the last number used.  The client is having to manually change the invoice number.  What's going on?

    Not as yet.

I was hoping to get an answer via this portal or at least see if it's an isolated incident.

It seems very hard to get answers to anything with regard to MYOB. I have been having cost price issues for weeks now and they still cant fix it.

    Hi everyone

The format of invoice numbers has changed in the latest version.

Regarding the invoice numbering, by default each time an invoice or purchase is created it tries to use the next number in the internal sequence.  Occasionally, the invoice number autonumber sequence can get pulled out of sequence, especially if transactions are deleted or transactions are recorded out of order.

To remedy that situation you want to go into the invoice number field on the required sale, update the invoice number on that field to be the required number and if that is not working for you, you may need to jump ahead to a higher number (i.e. If the last number in sequence was 100 the next number should be 120). This should start the sequence from that number correctly.

    Thanks for the reply Komal,

Thats very annoying to keep having to do that. I'm finding a lot of things in MYOB are like that. Its very frustrating.
