Converting employee from hourly casual to full time salaried

I have two staff that have been promoted from casual to full-time salaried. When I try and delete the check box for 'base hourly' Myob generates the error 'one or more payroll categories cannot be deselected as they have been used on recorded timesheets'.

Consequently, when I do the payrun it will add the salary AND the standard hourly base! I had to manually delete the hourly figure every week or the system will pay both the salary figure and the hourly base.

Apart from creating an entirely new employee card, which seems ridiculous, is there any way to correct this issue?

    Hi

I suppose you changed the following tabs in payroll details

personal details  to reflect the change in employment

wages to select the payroll catergories ( you can deselect the hourly and select the salary

    entitlements to accrue leave

standard pay should then have just the salary

    Hope that helps

    Hi there.

You can remove the additional hours that are showing up in the Standard Pay tab - note that any time you make a change to an employees hourly rate, MYOB will automatically pop the number of hours in their weekly/fortnightly pay period (Payroll Details tab) back into their standard pay - just something to watch out for!

    I hope this helps :)

    Hi Lisa,

Thanks for the reply. I took all of those steps, but because the 'base hourly' wage category has previously been used in timesheets, the system won't let me remove it.
