Deleting old cards

I need an efficient way to delete old card files that contain the personal information of former staff, customers and suppliers.  Some of these cards are a decade or more old and it is no longer acceptable to retain this information indefinitely.

Making the card inactive is not a solution and currently the only option seems to be individually deleting every line of information on every card which is absurdly time consuming and some information can't be deleted.

Is the issue being addressed?
