Incorrect pay rate

We just paid a staff member for the fortnight and noticed MYOB has used a different pay rate to what has been setup. It paid the Personal Leave at the correct rate and the Sunday Rate but then adjusted the Base Hourly to a different rate.

Any idea why that would be?

Thanks

    Hi

check how the personal leave has been set up

is there something in there that has been set up to make an adjustment to base hourly?

  • Hi wilf58

The 'Calc. Rate' field on the payslip is a calculated field, it doesn't pull from the hourly rate set in employee cards. It simply takes the actual total amount paid and divide it by the hours, producing the actual hourly rated used in the pay run.

The Calc rate will change if you have the option Automatically Adjust Base Hourly or Base Salary Details ticked for the additional payroll categories. When that option is ticked the software will make the required adjustments to keep the gross amount the same as the standard pay.

For example, this employee's standard pay is 38 hrs @ $32.50ph giving a gross pay of $1235 and a net pay of $926:

When the employee is paid 15.2 hours of personal leave with a fixed hourly rate of $25, the software automatically adjusts the Calc rate to keep the gross pay at $1235 and net pay at $926:

The Calc rate is calculated as follows:

    Standard gross pay $1235 - personal leave $380 = $855

    $855 divided by 22.8 hours = $37.50
