MYOB Team

Hi, We are in the process of setting up MYOB team and have set up 2 approving managers.  One to approve the timesheet while the other (payroll officer) is to monitor the submission of the timesheet.  Understand that one can only received notification of the submission if he is set up as an approving manager.  However the payroll officer is also an employee and his timesheet need to be approved by the first manager.  But this option is not available when we add employees to the first manager list (name is not on the pop up list).  How can one overcome this issue (payroll officer receiving notification and timesheet been approved)?  Please advise. Thanks in advance

    Hi IRES101,

If the payroll officer is also an employee and needs to have their own timesheet approved, just make sure they're added in MYOB Team and that they've got an employee card file set up. Keep in mind that each employee can only have one approving manager. So their timesheet will still need to go through that first manager for sign-off.

Here's a handy link with more info that should help step you through: Using the MYOB Team mobile app.

    Regards,

    Sai

    Hi Sai,

Both the approving managers have been added in MYOB team and have employee card file set up.  However, as mentioned, once the name is selected as the approving manager(the payroll officer), it will not be available in the drop down list when we add employee to the other approving manager (the one approving timesheet).  The system only allow one role per name, one cannot be both the approving manager and the employee .  Is there any way to overcome this?

    Regards

    Hi IRES101,

Thanks for pointing this out! Each person’s only allowed to wear one hat in the system, so if you need someone as both an approving manager and an employee, you’ll have to set them up with a separate card file for each role. Not the smoothest workaround, but that’s how MYOB keeps things tidy. If you think this option would give a shot, I suggest to post this on our ideas board for feature consideration.

    Cheers,

    Shella
