Payroll Register and Payroll Activity reports not agreeing

Hello,

We have an employee whom resigned during this financial year and since has returned. To get her entitlements to agree, I have created a new  card file for her. The issue is her Salary Sacrifice Deduction on her terminated profile is not reflected in Payroll Register Report. Also not showing in Singe Touch Payroll Reporting - EOFY finalisation. Please advise how to correct

Thank You

    Hi LeeJarvis,

Creating a new card is definitely an option and can help in certain cases, but it could also create its own challenges, like issues with superannuation or other historical records. On the other hand, reinstating an employee might temporarily affect their entitlements, but that's something our team can absolutely help you sort out. Ultimately, it’s your call to make.

About the mismatch between your Payroll Activity and Payroll Register reports, this usually happens when manual adjustments are made to an employee’s pay history. It sounds like the missing Salary Sacrifice Deduction could be related to this. To fix it, you’ll need to undo the employee’s termination first, adjust their pay history, and send an update event to notify the ATO about the changes.

Note: Activity reports get their data from recorded pay runs, while Register reports rely on pay history reported to the ATO, so double-checking those can help keep everything in sync.

    Cheers,

    Princess

  • Good Afternoon Princess,

Thank for your email. I have reversed the alterations that were made through payroll to our employee’s entitlement balances with no change to Payroll Register Report. I think your team will need to correct. Please advise what information you will require.
