SRO - Payroll Tax

Hi,

I have followed the guides on setting up payroll tax at 4.85% metro rate with no issues.

Now I just need to record monthly payroll tax payments. - I have created an expense account for payroll tax. However, how would I go about recording a payment of payroll tax using the newly created expense account?

Do I have to create a supplier card for the SRO - payroll tax linked to the expense account and record payments like so?

Cheers,

Huss

Thanks for the extra detail. You're right, it'd feel odd to set up a supplier card just to pay the SRO. Supplier cards are really for quotes, orders and bills. For payroll tax, just record it as a Spend Money (record expense) from your bank and allocate it to your SRO payroll tax account/category. That way you don't have to link it to any supplier, and it'll post exactly where it should.

If you're keen to read more, the Spend Money help article walks through the steps-by-step process.

    Thanks Genreve,

The issue I'm having is my Spend money screen does not allow me to allocate to accounts, rather only suppliers.

    Please see the screenshot.

    Thanks Genreve,

I have sorted it out. I was under the impression that in order to record the payment I must select a card from the drop down menu, Upon further investigation of your link to the spend money article I was able to solve it.

    Cheers,

    Huss
