Swap PPL into AL

Hi,

 

In Dec 24, Jan and Feb 25, one of our employees was using AL even though still had a company PPL balance. He didn't realise that there's expiry date for PPL.

 

back then, the PPL hadn't expired yer, but now he contested and asking to swap to PPL instead of AL. and approved.

 

My question is - Since all period were close and we can not simply reverse the transaction, what's the best approach to reclass the leave balance?

 

Should I manually reverse it in this period and then redo it using PPL? or just simply adjust the leave balance directly, swapping AL to PPL within the entitlements? All the dollar, super and tax exactly the same, I just need to fix the leave balance swap from AL to PPL.

    Hi IndigoHermawan,

     

    Since the periods are all closed and you can’t just reverse the transactions, the easiest way to sort this out is to simply adjust the leave entitlement balances directly by recording a zero dollar pay with a leave adjustment value. Check this link for the guide. You need to put positive hours on Paid Parental Leave and negative hours on Annual Leave. Keep it clean and straightforward.

    I believe this will be the same approach if we want to swap LSL to AL, and any leave basically just do zero transaction and adjust the entitlements only, and it will still comply with STP/ATO?

    Hey IndigoHermawan,

     

    Spot on! if you need to swap from one type of leave to another, just pop through a void pay and adjust the entitlements only, and you’ll be covering all bases for both STP reporting.
