Urgent Help STP Declaration and BMS ID query

Firstly, I would like to know how to set up an employee as a new Declarer to STP payroll (as I am going on leave).

We did look at this on MYOB - Followed all steps - and now the ATO has posted the following:

...The ATO hasn’t received the business’s previous payroll software BMS ID. You can submit it by clicking the Send update event button. If you have reported your previous software’s BMS ID and the report’s status is sending or sent, please check back or refresh the page to see if the report is accepted by the ATO...

We DO NOT have a previous BMS ID as we have always used this same version of MYOB to lodge Payroll STP

I have tried calling ATO but as usual - they are not able to answer the phone due to their usual high volume of calls.

Hope someone can assist ASAP because we need to complete today's pay run

    Hey JoJo_S,

Happy to help get this sorted to complete today's pay run!  To set up another employee as a new STP declarer, here's a handy link that'll walk you through the steps. About that ATO message you're seeing— it's likely triggered by how the STP setup was confirmed. Since you've been using the same version the whole time and there's no previous BMS ID to report, the software's just gotten a little confused. What you'll want to do is re-set up STP on your end. Here's a link for more info. The key part is when you get to the step that asks if you've used another payroll software— select 'No'. That'll let the software know there's no BMS ID to transfer and should clear the warning. Once that's done, send an update event again to nudge things along. Give that a go and if it's still being a bit stubborn, make sure to our team on Live Chat via our virtual assistant, MOCA

    Cheers,

    Doreen
