Moving MYOB (AccountEdge Pro 2016) to another computer

I can't even find if I am in the right place for this. Apparently I upgraded my MYOB software in 2016 and the name changed.

 

I used to be able to run my program on a MacMini desktop computer while in my office and a MacBook Pro laptop computer when traveling. At some point they discontinued that feature so I had to buy a brand new MacMini in 2020 running OS 2018 to continue running the old software on my desktop which is currently running Mojave 10.14.6. Laptop is running the same. I'd like to upgrade my MacMini OS, but to do so means I have to stop running the software on my desktop and move it to my laptop. With all the glitches that software runs into, I tried installing it on the laptop first to make sure it will run and I am unable to. I'm afraid if I discontinue it on my desktop and try to run it on my laptop it still won't work, although it used to work on both, just not open at the same time. If I disable it on my desktop and still am not able to reactivate it on my laptop, will I be able to reactivate it on my desktop? There is nobody on the phone system that will take my call for this simple question without wanting a credit card in advance!

  • I have essentially the same question for moving to a new Windows machine. I have AccountEdge 2016, V25 build 20.0 16A which I understand is no longer supported. The online help says that I have to deactivate it on my current machine before I can activate a copy on my new machine, but if I do that and then find out I can't activate it on my new machine and also can't reactivate it on my old machine, I'll be completely locked out from my data. Can you tell me if there is some way to reactivate it on my Windows 10 machine if it winds up not working on my new Windows 11 machine?

    Hi @PatSuro,

     

    You'll be glad to know that you can still reactivate AccountEdge Pro on your desktop— since you're running macOS 10.14, you're all set. If ever you need to reinstall it down the track, here's a link to get you sorted.

    Hi FAFO,

     

    Just letting you know that MYOB AccountEdge Pro 2016 is no longer supported, so we're unable to assist with moves or reactivations for that version.

     

    That said, you can still check the system requirements to see if your current setup might work with it: Minimum system requirements.
