AccountRight Standard 2019.4.0 - Moving a file from an old laptop to a new one

We currently have AccountRight Standard 2019.4.0 on an old laptop and want to move to a new laptop so we can format & throw (recycle) the old laptop.

We have installed the same version of AccountRight Standard on the new laptop, but when trying to open the file we get "maximum number of company files activated".

What do we need to do on the old laptop to "release" the file so it can be opened on the new laptop?

Ok, we just had the wrong software version on the new laptop.

    Old laptop 2019.4

    New laptop 2019.2

All working now. Thanks for your reply.

  • Hi callwas

It seems you are trying to Activate an un-activated file - which means you are probably opeing up the wrong file. I suggest you either copy the existing file from the original laptop to the Library on the new Laptop, or make a backup on the old laptop and restore on the new laptop.  And when first opening the file, don't use the recently opened shortcut, click Open to ensure you are opening the correct file.

    Regards

    Gavin
